Horizons has guided over 10,000 organizations to raise more than $9 billion for ministry.
[Dallas, TX]. Horizons Stewardship, a national leader in generosity development and fundraising, celebrates 30 years of helping churches and faith-based nonprofits create cultures of generosity, grow disciples, and fund ministry.
“Horizons began 30 years ago when a small rural church called asking for help to build their sanctuary” recalled Horizons founder, Dr. J. Clif Christoper. “I worried my process may not work, so I only charged for my expenses. Today that sanctuary is full of worshippers as are so many others throughout the United States and Canada. I am thankful for God’s guiding hand from the very beginning.”
Over the last three decades of ministry, Horizons and its team of 33 Ministry Strategists and support staff have guided more than 10,000 organizations in raising over $8 billion in annual, capital and planned giving. The Horizons team includes experienced generosity development specialists who hold a variety of advanced degrees, training, and certifications, a sampling of which include Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designations, International Coaching Federation (ICF) training and certifications, as well as Masters, Doctorates, and PhDs, in specialties such as Business, Divinity, Ministry, Education, and Spiritual Formation.
“A lot has changed over the last three decades but some things haven’t. We still believe God wants the local church and faith-based ministries to thrive. We also still only invite people to join our team who feel a specific call from God into a ministry of spiritual growth that results in increased ministry funding and impact. ” says CEO Joe Park. “But how we help leaders today looks very different than it has in the past. As the ministry landscape changes, we have evolved how we serve church and nonprofit leaders to remain relevant and ready to help turn vision into reality.”
In addition to designing, testing, and guiding capital, annual, and planned giving campaigns, Horizons offers a year-round approach to growing generosity through our Next Level Generosity framework that includes, among many other elements, design and implementation coaching in analytics, digital giving, donor cultivation, stewardship education, and communication strategies.
“Seasons of change in ministry bring both challenges and opportunities,” says Executive Vice President Kristine Miller. “We are constantly adapting to what we learn from working in the field to ensure we are attuned to today’s ministry needs and prepared to help leaders grow more disciples and fund more ministry.”
Horizons Stewardship helps church, ministry, and faith-based nonprofit leaders grow disciples and fund ministry through a collaborative framework that is tailored to their unique culture, aligned with leadership’s vision, and implemented through coaching, planning, technology, and analytics to ensure the church lives into its full ministry potential and impact. Horizons has refined a deeply integrated, spiritually focused approach that consistently results in more ministry funding and more effective disciple-making strategies.
